Saturday 23^rd of January 2005 - Door-to-Door Collections

On Saturday the 22nd and Sunday the 23rd of January was the last days of the tsuanami relief effort. On Saturday the Lion's Club boys and girls did their last day of packing to send items such as food items, medicine and clothes to Sri Lanka after many weeks of effort to send shipments. In the evening on the same day was the tsunami fund raiser dinner orgnaised by Khmer, Quan Cong, Hoa Nghiem & Buddhist Vihara Victoria at the SIR International Reception, Springvale which raised over $20,000 for Sri Lankan tsunami victims. On Sunday youth members joined to do door-to-door collections.

Saturday 8^th of January 2005 - Lion's Club Help

On Firday the 7th and Saturday the 8th of January we helped 'Friends of Lanka' and the 'Lions Club' raise funds for Tsunami victims in Sri Lanka. Here are some of the photos. 'Friends of Lanka' raised pver $20,000 and the 'Lions Club' over $15,000.

Sunday 2^th of January 2005 - Tsunami Relief Temples Collection, Day 2

On Saturday the 1^st of January and Sunday the 2^nd of January we got into groups and went to three temples in Berwick, Keysborough and Dandenong to collect funds for tsunami victims in Sri Lanka. We had a meeting and started by taking pan-sil and planned the execution of the collections at the three temples. We then discussed how we could help 'Friends of Lanka', as well as SCATS youth with their fund raising activities. About 50 people in all attended including parents and guests from 'Friends of Lanka' and SCATS youth. We raised a total of $4621.45 (Rs. 369,716) in the two days. A outstanding effort by all the youths.
